Welcome to Thames Rifle Association
T.R.A is a club formed in 2014 by a group of experienced shooters from other clubs, who grouped together to start something new. We meet regularly at Bisley, and also travel to Lydd and to Knokke-Heist in Belgium to shoot handguns.
We shoot various disciplines at Bisley, and in wet weather we make use of the covered firing points — so the shooting carries on whatever the British weather throws at us.
Our disciplines
Gallery Rifle
Shot standing at 20–50 yards on the Melville range at Bisley. Popular, sociable, and shot for fun or serious postal-league competition alike.
Fullbore Shooting
Larger-calibre rifles shot outdoors from 100 up to 1000 yards on the NRA ranges at Bisley — from target shooting to fast-paced practical rifle.
New to shooting? You're very welcome.
We actively encourage new members and welcome anyone 18 and over. Our qualified coaches will train you from scratch — you don't need to own any equipment or spend a penny until you're sure it's the sport for you.
