“Fullbore” rifles are larger-calibre guns, shot outdoors. T.R.A has an active programme of fullbore shooting throughout the year, mostly on the superb NRA ranges at Bisley. We shoot at ranges from 100 yards up to 1000 yards — yes, that's well over half a mile.
Fullbore shooting takes many forms, from target shooting (like precision rifle, but with bigger bullets) to practical rifle, involving mainly snap and rapid disciplines using quick-firing rifles.
T.R.A has recently expanded its fullbore shooting. A number of our members take their long-range shooting seriously, using modern rifles as well as old service rifles — such as the .303 No. 4 — for those interested in classic guns.
